“The members and friends of the Lansing Seventh-day Adventist church are so excited and pleased with the fresh clean new look of our sanctuary. We have had many comments and compliments, as well as visits from other Adventists who are considering sanctuary renewal for their own churches.
The Capital Improvement Committee and the Decorating Committee that worked with you appreciate your patience, suggestions, and guidance through the entire project. We were all impressed by the fact that your workers and orders were always on schedule or arrived ahead of schedule.
We are happy and willing to invite anyone considering the curved pews to visit the Lansing church for a walk through.”
Marvin Anderson, Chair of the Capital Improvement Committee. We were brought in as design consultants on this project for Saint Johns Center in Plymouth, Michigan. The client had previously furnished the room entirely with chairs, but they were unhappy with their choice. They asked Bracy & Associates to evaluate the space and determine the best seating options for their type of worship and their architectural style.
Using the round theme from the ceiling and tile flooring patterns, we developed the seating space to utilize curved pews. We continued to utilize existing design elements by placing a custom route in end supports to match the cross in their altar and we also bull nosed the supports to project the same rounded flow as the curved pews. The end detail featured at Saint Johns Center provides an open appearance. “I just want to let you know how pleased our congregation is with the new pews that were just recently installed. In addition to the wonderful appearance of the pews and their workmanship, I want to tell you how impressed we were with the total process beginning with the sales effort by yourself. You always responded in a timely way to all of our questions, no matter how repetitive or mundane some of them were. Your patience with our slow committee process is also appreciated. Trying to please our request for a “cushioney” pew seat was not easy. We kept asking for change and you responded each time.
As you know we had a very tight budget and wanted the curved pew look. You worked hard to figure out a way to not compromise quality and appearance and yet fit the total package into our budget. The end result is a satisfied customer due to a customer oriented staff from you, to the installers, and the total approach.”
Henry Gruen, Executive Director, Shaarey Tikvah At the First Presbyterian Church of Grosse Ile, their desire was to purchase new worship furniture that would provide the exact same look of their existing seating, but with a substantial improvement in comfort and quality.
After meeting with members of the church, a plan was established to not only exactly match the look of their furniture, but to also improve the comfort of the seating with improvements to the geometry; additions of highly durable cushioned seats; placement for special use locations; such as wheel chairs.
If someone was to visit the church that had not been there for many years they would have a difficult time telling that anything had changed, that is until they sat down and noticed how much more comfortable it is to worship in the new seating and arrangement. “The pews are so very beautiful. We were thrilled with your responsiveness. Turn around time was phenomenal! Thanks for all you do and are.” A Faith & Form Award Winner this worship space features True Radius Pews which wrap around a center area of flexible seating with a similar feature list as the fixed pews.
It is our desire to work with each congregation to assist them in finding the arrangements and products that will best meet their plans for worship now, and in the years to come. Each client is unique and so are our recommended solutions. This seating group provides deep cushioned seats and very durable white wood backs. Additionally, the rear side of the pew backs and chair frames are also finished in the same white finish. The chair seating locks together with adjustable ganging hardware that allows the worship department to arrange the seating in any configuration required. “Because a good deal of our architectural practice is the design and furnishing of churches we have had the opportunity of working with Bracy & Associates for over twenty five years. This has been a very good relationship. Quotes have been prompt, installations on time and particularly since our requirements involve the departure from strictly catalogue items. He has always helped us solve problems and has produced church furnishings that are truly custom in appearance. I would certainly recommend Bracy & Associates to work with on any commission for church furnishings.”
Jack Brown, President - Brown Teefey & Associates Architects, P.C. In the past 22 years, trends have changed, and several of our clients have requested designs and furnishings that provide a more contemporary environment than traditional pew seating. Southridge Community Church is a good example.
Rather than an ornately detailed gothic or colonial designed space, they wanted a clean contemporary setting that would invite people in and make them comfortable and relaxed enough to stay to hear the Word of God. This goal was accomplished through the use of extremely quiet and comfortable auditorium seating combined with cool, serene palettes of color. The cool colors were balanced with the use of warm wood tones used sparingly as accents. To make things easy to maintain, flooring was carefully selected and installed.
Your worship space is unique to your congregation, and though you may be inspired by others we will assist you in putting together a worship space that truly meets your needs. East Bay Calvary struggled with the question of continuous pew seating, which many long time members had preferred, and the desire of others to have contemporary auditorium seating with arm rests. We listened to their wishes and goals, and then developed a solution to meet the preferences of as many parishioners as possible. Utilizing true radius curved pews on the main floor provided them with great lines of sight regardless of where they were seated. For the balcony seating, we coordinated auditorium seating equipped with retractable arm rests which can be moved out of the way to provide expanded seat widths when necessary.
“Thank you for working so patiently with EBC to make our sanctuary look so good. The whole project is a great memorial to the faithful service of so many.”
